Life Back To Normal

It is so great to be home. We had a great week just relaxing around the place. As you can see, Riley did a little cooking in the kitchen. He thought the picture was fun until he remembered we have a blog spot now. :) Richard has had a good weekend. He has been doing a little walking everyday and also a little resting everyday. He has been a little sore, but still doing amazingly well considering he went through a major surgery a week and 2 days ago. We had lots of company this weekend which is always enjoyable. Cal and Rosie came today and spent the afternoon with us. We are all beginning to prepare for school which starts this Wednesday. This summer went so fast, but what a great summer it has been for our family. We once again have seen God's amazing constant love in our lives. While it has been a summer of challenges, it has also been a summer of great faith building and learning to trust our God in all things. GREAT NEWS: Terri Harbison is back in the neighborhood and the White's are all excited.

Here we come Idaho

We get to go home today. We are both very excited to be in our own beds and most of all to be back with our children. It has been a good trip but THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

Houston Texas

We were right in the center of all of this today. Richard, Troy, Amanda, and I took the train downtown to tour the city. They have an actual town underneath all of this. It is pretty amazing. There are shopping stores, restaurants, offices, etc. We also visited museum science center, zoo, theater, and lots of different gardens. It was a good day. . . As you can tell, Richard is doing great. He feels wonderful. The only real pain he has is a sore throat (probably from the breathing tube during surgery) and some soreness around his 4-5 inch incision on his back. We are both amazed how great he feels. Prayer works!!
Daily devotion . . "Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!

Our good friend Hank is graduating Friday from Harvest Farm. We are so proud of him and the work that God is doing and is going to continue to do in his life. It has been such a privilege for Richard and I to witness the hand of God in Hank's life. We love you brother and thank you for being part of our lives. Always remember Phil 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Press on toward the goal which God has for you. See you soon.

What a HOTTIE!

This was taken on my cell phone right before they wheeled him off! That's my man!!!

Praise God I have no camera

Well let me just say, it is a good thing I forgot the camera in Idaho, because these robes they offer in the hospital really cover nothing. When you mix pain pills with open back clothing there really is no care in the world. One of my biggest jobs is making sure sweet Richard is covered up. As many of you know, he is doing really well. We are getting out tomorrow and should be back in Idaho by Wednessday. (yeh) Thank you for all the people that have helped with the kids and have offered to help in any way. We really appreciate you all.

Good news

Richard is out of surgery and doing wonderful. Surgery went well. He only had the one tumor (praise God). He is as spunky as ever. He feels great. We are in our room and he is ready to go running already. The doctors say he must wait until tomorrow. We are very thankful for all God is doing in our lives. Thank you everyone again!! Have a wonderful weekend.

Richard's Update

The time that we have been waiting for has finally arrived. Richard has been taken back to surgery. Everything was running a little longer than expected, so we will probably not hear anything until 3:30p.m. I am sitting in the waiting room with a room full of anxious people. My praise for the day is the amazing peace that God has once again given Richard and I. We know everything is going to be great. We have had an amazing last couple of days. Our trip began with a christian taxi cab driver, that we had wonderful converstation with. If fact he came over last night and hung out with us and prayed for Richard. He is from Nigera and has a fabulous testimony. We then spent the next day at the hosptial. Richard had and EKG, blood work, and met with medicine doctor. Everything went great. Richard is as healthy as can be and his pulmonary test were great. The doctors were all amazed how healthy he is. The next day Richard and I rode the train down town and met lots of people. You know how us small town folks are, we have to say hi and visit with everyone.

One interesting young man, Kyle 18 years old, we met has been cleaned up from drugs for 6 months. He shared that he was a follower of lucifer; however, was very willing to hear about Jesus and we were able to pray with him. It was an awesome time of fellowship. Please pray for Kyle and that he will be released from satan. We were so blessed to visit with Kyle and now God orchestrated it all. Our God is so amazing!

We then spent the evening with our friends Troy and Amanda. We finished the night just enjoying each other and talking about all the great things God has for us in the future. We have been reminded how wonderful family and friends are and how blessed we are to be surrounded by so many great people. Thank to everyone. We love you all and look forward to seeing everyone soon. God bless!

Start your engine . . well maybe

July 31, 2008 the African Queen is back out on the waters . . but not for long. Grandpa Cal had one questions "Why?" The trip began with a little MORE engine repair. Soon the engine was purring like a kitten and Grandpa was roaring like a lion. It may have something to do with being in the middle of the Snake River and the nocking of the engine. Within seconds Ron is saying we can make it to our fishing hole; however, the wiser of the two boys, Richard, chose to head back to the docks. Within seconds the African Queen engine said it's last goodbyes. Luckily the backup electric motor brought the crew safely back to ground. Round 1 . . the adventures continues in the morning stay tuned . . more to come.

Volleyball Camp

Hayley and I just spent the last 2 days at volleyball camp. It was held here in Hagerman. Mackenzie and her friend came and joined us. We all had a great time and the girls have some sore muscles.:)
